I am a San Francisco-based filmmaker, screenwriter, writer, photographer, producer, creative director, designer, and community advocate.

My work examines queer life, addiction and recovery, grief, trauma, attachment, chosen family, social justice, community memory, and the reparative possibilities of art. Across film, writing, photography, and design, he is interested in the ways people make meaning, build connection, and begin again after rupture.

I am the founder and director of Liberty Lane Films, an independent film production company developing narrative, documentary, nonprofit, podcast, and community-centered projects. Working professionally as “J. Andrew,” I write, direct, and produce films and screenplays, including the feature documentary Meet Me at the Club: The Castro Country Club Story and the award-winning short films Unbreaking and Here For Now.

My broader career spans visual storytelling, branding marketing, advertising, digital media, photography, design, film production, research, and organizational leadership. I work with artists, local, regional and national nonprofit organizations, community institutions, and commercial clients across the United States and internationally.
